New at Traditions
What is new is old. Gustav Stickley was a pioneer in the conservation of American forests, helping to transform how we harvest natural resources in this country.
Today, the oak and cherry from the Appalachian and Adirondack forests stretching from Kentucky to Maine are no longer scarce. The premium white oak that Stickley is famous for come from logs pulled out of mixed forests on private lands one at a time, as they peak. The cherry comes from Pennsylvania and Stickley's home state of New York.
Since 1900, when Gustav Stickley began, American forests have increased by almost 50 million acres.
Something red and dark, and slightly mysterious, something soft and smooth, fabric touches our lives daily. What we see dominates our senses, followed by what we hear, but touch is soothing to the soul.
